The Bermuda Environmental Sustainability Taskforce [BEST] is advising the community to “do our part as a global citizen to slow down global warming.”

A BEST flyer says, “Paulette and Teddy would make terrible dinner guests! They were uninvited, ran off their mouths, and left a huge mess. Do we want more like them to come to Bermuda?

“Hurricanes gather strength from warm ocean water and increased global warming means more frequent and intense hurricanes in the future. The main causes of global warming are the burning of fossil fuels like oil and gas for energy, global deforestation, and industrial-scale meat farming.

“As a small island nation directly exposed to the effects of hurricanes, we need to do our part as a global citizen to slow down global warming.
